1944 Washington Works to Prevent Inflation

In 1944, Washington's efforts to help the economy were focused on inflation prevention. The Office of War Information created a public service advertisement explaining why it was better to save your money than to go out and buy things. "Use it up...Wear it out...Make it do...Or do without" was the catchy slogan.  Goods were scarce. Today there is a different problem. There are plenty of items to buy, but nervous people need to be convinced.
